It holds two 18-amp batteries that carry the X-Cel up to 7 miles further per charge than other Schwinn models. The extra long 15 mile range makes the X-Cel great for your daily commute. The 2005 Schwinn X-Cel is powered by a 600 watt "Rare-Earth Magnet" Electro Drive motor. That's a 200 watt increase over last year's model. The superior power and torque mean extra fast starts and amazing hill climbing ability. The 2005 model also introduces an easy on/off seat kit and basket, motorcycle style throttle and an enhanced strength aluminum kick tail. The seat kit and basket upgrade was a $59.95 option. now it's standard! All traditional Schwinn features apply, including; the convenient downtube consule, off-road capabilities, weather resistance, folding handlebars, smooth riding suspension and advanced sure stopping brakes.
